Towards the end of his first term back for his second year in composition Jasper has been met with a number of deadlines. He has utilized this time to become more familiar with more experimental composers and has tried to widen his scope of listening. In the final week Jasper was invited to watch a concert held at the RWCMD for the Prince of Wales’s 70th Birthday, after there was a champagne reception where Jasper was lucky enough to briefly meet his royal highness. Shortly after Jasper received word that his piece “Melys” had been selected to workshopped and played with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales as a part of their Composition Wales series. Jasper is really excited to work with an ensemble of such high calibre!

Entering the festive season, Jaspers focus moved towards playing carols and participating in contests with the City of Cardiff (Mellingriffith) Brass Band. Whilst playing, after a hardworking first term back at the RWCMD, Jasper is looking forward to a relaxing holiday and wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
